In planning for its 2016 airport emergency table-top exercise, Canberra Airport wanted to commission a professional emergency exercise facilitator—someone with experience and knowledge of the aerodrome environment, experience in managing emergency exercises, and last, but not least, professionalism. With over 25 years’ experience at airports, Avisure’s Jill Brix is very well-known and respected within the aviation industry, and proved to be the ideal facilitator.
Jill was a very proactive and supportive facilitator in the lead up to, and during, the exercise, maintaining regular contact with Canberra Airport and the Airport Emergency Committee as the emergency scenario developed and evolved. Not only did Jill’s sensible and level-headed approach ensure the exercise objectives were met, but Avisure also provided timely administrative support services, sometimes lacking with other facilitators.

Avisure has been the Vancouver Airport Authority’s wildlife management services contracted provider from 2014 to 2023. During this time, our respective organisations have built a collaborative working relationship, which extends beyond fulfilling wildlife management requirements. I attribute this to our mutual commitment to ensuring safety is paramount in everything that we do. Avisure ensures safe and efficient airport operations by providing expert knowledge and insights to continually improve our safety systems.
Avisure maintains a 24/7 presence on the airfield, and they continually seek ways to advance site-specific training to ensure that when the need arises, as it often does in a busy airport, they can be relied upon to get the job done safely and effectively. This last point is most impressive considering our head offices are 7000 km apart. I highly recommend Avisure for the training, safety management and wildlife services they offer.

Sydney Airport is the busiest airport in the southern hemisphere, operating three runways. We have a “safety-first” focus with respect to wildlife management.
Since 2008, we have had Avisure prepare our wildlife management plan and assist with its implementation through monitoring, reporting and training. In that time Avisure have provided a high level of service.
Avisure are respected as leaders in this field and for their ability to deliver consistently across a range of ports.

Avisure has been an ongoing provider of wildlife strike mitigation services to Broadspectrum Services (now Ventia) since February 2011. Avisure worked initially at RAAF Base Edinburgh in South Australia, but following the success of the program, work extended to Victorian bases.
As a result of Avisure’s wide-ranging efforts, since their engagement, there have been zero damaging wildlife strikes at RAAF Edinburgh compared to an average of six in previous years.
We have found that Avisure remains compliant with industry standards and keeps stakeholders well informed. They strive for continual improvement under their certified Integrated Management System, and have a proactive and positive attitude. Avisure are flexible, whether it is in adopting better business practices, or being available at short notice when required.

Gold Coast Airport has had a long-standing relationship with Avisure. They were first brought in for expert advice in 1997, but over the following 20-plus years, the relationship has extended into developing wildlife hazard management plans and procedures, risk assessments and research trials, on- and off-airport surveys, and assistance with implementing risk management strategies.
We continue to partner with Avisure because of their high technical knowledge and expertise, professionalism and quality service, and their innovative approach to wildlife management and aviation safety.
