Research and development

Avisure engages in a variety of research and development projects, leveraging our extensive expertise to investigate and apply technology to reducing wildlife/aircraft conflicts to safeguard aviation and protect wildlife. This involves exploration of predictive tracking systems to move beyond current reactive, airport-based wildlife management.

Avisure has completed research on and assessed technology for:

  • Avian radar
  • AI driven optical and infra-red camera systems with automated wildlife identification
  • Drone technology to detect and disperse birds
  • Scientifically assessing grass cutting heights to minimise high risk species
  • Stomach content analysis to determine food preferences for high-risk species
  • Endophytic grasses and taste deterrents designed to reduce palatability of grasslands
  • Noise deterrent systems, including gas cannon

Engage us to assist with tool selection as we have done the hard work and rigorously assessed what works and what doesn’t. We can source equipment for you, but do not sell directly to you or take a cut from suppliers. This means we are truly independent and have no vested interest in what equipment we recommend. We only recommend what we know works.
