Alexandra joined Avisure in January 2017 after completing her Bachelor of Applied Science (Wildlife Science) from the University of Queensland. Since joining Avisure, Alexandra has developed a specialized skillset as a Wildlife Hazard Management Officer, undertaking field work as Project Manager for the Gold Coast Airport Wildlife Hazard Management Program and the Gold Coast Desalination Plant Wildlife Hazard Management Program. She has worked on national and international projects for Changi International Airport and Seletar Airport, Gold Coast Airport, Ballina-Byron Gateway Airport, Launceston Airport, Rockhampton Airport, Mackay Airport, Whitsundays Airport, New Zealand Defence Force, Western Sydney Airport and Sydney Airport.
She has experience in performing both on- and off-airport fauna surveys and wildlife risk assessments. Behind the scenes, Alexandra has also assisted in writing Wildlife Hazard Management Plans, Wildlife Hazard Assessments, project proposals, conducting literature reviews, creating report templates, and creating GIS maps.
Alexandra has also delivered wildlife hazard management training to the Gold Coast Desalination Plant, Changi International Airport and Seletar Airport in Singapore, and Hawkes Bay Airport and Whenuapai Air Base in New Zealand. She also coordinates Avisure’s external wildlife hazard management training that is conducted three times a year.
She has been instrumental in introducing new programs, such as Fulcrum and Tableau, to Avisure to assist in field data collection and online reporting for clients such as Gold Coast Airport, WSA Co, Sydney Airport and Rockhampton Airport.
She has conducted fauna surveys for koalas, raptors and other native wildlife, using a wide range of trapping equipment including Elliott traps, pitfall traps, camera traps and others. She has applied her knowledge of animal behaviour in handling wildlife and domestic animals.
Alexandra currently holds a White Card, First Aid and CPR certification, and a Class H and Class A & B firearms license.
