Bird Strike stops full retraction of gear

An Aeromexico Connect Embraer ERJ-190, registration XA-JAC performing flight 5D-241/AM-241 from Mazatlan to Mexico City (Mexico) with 85 people on board, was climbing out of Mazatlan when the crew could not fully retract the landing gear and returned to Mazatlan for a safe landing.

A post flight inspection revealed a bird had struck the landing gear causing the problem.

The flight was cancelled, the passengers were rebooked onto other flight.
