Avisure at the AAWHG Forum

Avisure was proud to co-sponsor the Australian Aviation Wildlife Hazard Group (AAWHG) Workshop’s networking function held at Cloud 9, Rooftop Bar, Rydges Sydney Airport Hotel on Tuesday 23 July. The AAWHG Workshop, a successful two-day event held at Sydney Airport, was organised by the Avisure team - Jill Brix, Principal Aviation Consultant and Erin March, Graduate Wildlife Biologist. Jill and Erin are AAWHG Executives and as Office Bearers manage the AAWHG events.

The workshop’s theme was ‘working together for aviation safety’ and with 70 aviation industry participants, the group was able to workshop recommended practices and issues at remote/regional and large airports and Defence airfield issues.

Jess Bracks, Principal Wildlife Biologist, Ecosure (Avisure’s sister company) co-presented with Denys Beveridge on the methods and results of tracking Black-backed gulls at Wellington Airport, New Zealand. Dr Jeff McKee, Avisure’s Director of Research and Development created a robust discussion as part of the panel on Brisbane Airport’s strike investigation presentation.

Phil Shaw, also attended, noting he is one of the few and possibly the only person who has attended all the AAWHG forums and workshops since their inception.
